Volunteer to Serve

The Association of Mathematics Teacher Educators (AMTE) thrives because of the dedication and service of its members. Volunteering is one of the most meaningful ways to support our mission to improve mathematics teacher education—and an excellent opportunity to build professional connections and leadership skills along the way.

Whether you’re interested in committee work, supporting the annual conference, or reviewing publications, your time and expertise can make a difference.

AMTE is seeking volunteers! We’d love to have you involved!

Why Volunteer with AMTE?

    • Support the Profession — Influence the future of math teacher education through active involvement.
    • Connect with Colleagues — Build relationships and collaborate with like-minded educators across the country.
  • Give Back to the MTE Community — Contribute to the development of resources, events, and initiatives that strengthen our field.

Ways to Serve

    • Join an AMTE committee or task force (Click here for more details about service opportunities.)
    • Assist with annual conference activities
  • Provide feedback on proposals and member resources

What to Expect

  • AMTE divisions conduct most of their work via email, video conference, and web-based collaboration.
  • In-person meetings typically occur only when members are already attending the annual AMTE conference.
  • Most volunteer roles last one year and begin in the fall. If you’re not selected this cycle, we encourage you to submit your interest again next year.
